Head of Sales Force Effectiveness

Our client is a highly successful German mid-sized pharmaceuticals company. Privately owned, they enjoy market leadership in their core markets and are active in more than 50 countries worldwide. For their global headquarters in SW Germany, they are now seeking to hire a bright and ambitious Head of Sales Force Effectiveness.

In this exciting international role, you will carry global responsibility for designing and deploying state-of-the-art SFE solutions across the businesses. Reporting to the sales and marketing director, you will work closely with the salesforce and senior management to ensure accurate measurement of sales force performance and carry out targeting, segmentation and territory alignment exercises to maximise efficiency as well as ensuring that incentives are appropriate and have the desired effect. As the key interface between local and headquarter sales controlling, you will be in daily contact with international subsidiaries to ensure that the existing strategies are working and that future SFE strategy reflects both the business needs and the challenges ahead. You will also manage and maintain CRM systems and strategy as well as KPI dashboards.

Your profile: To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years SFE experience, preferably at international level, although we will consider candidates with national experience who can demonstrate a keen awareness of international SFE issues. The role is both strategic and operational, so on the one hand you will need to be able to think outside the box and define future strategy, but on the other hand you must also be a hands-on personality, happy to deal with constantly changing operational requirements within a highly dynamic international environment. You will act as a trusted advisor to the management board and will display the communication skills and diplomacy necessary for this role, which acts as an interface with many other departments, but particularly with marketing, sales, IT and controlling. You should be fluent in German and English and regular business travel will be required.
